The Moeda Caves are located in S. Mamede, Batalha municipality, just 2 km away from Fatima. Its discovery happened in 1971, by two hunters who were chasing a fox. The visitable extension of the Cave, with galleries filled with numerous calcareous formations, is 350 meters and its depth is 45 meters below the entrance quota. The temperature is around 18ºC, remaining constant throughout the year.
